    Description

Vintage Original Envelope with Printed US Flag Washington Two Cent addressed to mother in Hackensack, NJ, from son stationed at Fort Hamilton, NY Feb. 1918.  We did a little research and found the soldier named Walter Whitehead (1890-1965) who was with Battery D, 59th Artillery.  He served in France during WWI and returned to NJ where he worked as a mechanic most of his life.  He never married and lived with his parents (his father died in 1926) and thereafter with his mother.   No apparent siblings.   Just a guy who signed up to serve his country in his late 20's, did his job and came home.  We're glad to recognize him if only in a very small way.  Condition is good some foxing left side.  We ship fast and FREE!  Contact us any questions we try our best and follow our store we focus on rare and unique and stories behind it.
