Comments…...... King Birendra Bir Bikram wearing plumbed crown and Vishnu Ganda Image of Lord Changunanayan on front. One of the two premier gods of Hinduism, Vishnu is frequently viewed as the preserver and protector of the world. The most popular contemporary forms or incarnations (avatars) of Vishnu are Rama, hero of the epic Ramayana, and Krishna, hero of the Bhagavad Gita. A kindly deity, Vishnu is represented riding on the bird Garuda or reclining on the snake Shesha and is sometimes worshiped symbolically by a small stone called a salagrama. Black antelopes and arms on reverse. Watermark: plumed crown. 2nd image note under ultraviolet (UV) light showing security inks.
    Printer: Orell Fussli, Switzerland
Rupee = from Sanskrit word "Rupya" - Silver. See my other notes from this country. Image is NOT note in lot.
