Trench Art French Bullet with German Button can opener, card holder?

WW1 Trench Art - a French 8mm 1896 D Lebel bullet
with a German Soldier's button applied
It has a notch cut not the bullet, could be used as award holder for a dinner place setting, or for a calling/business card.  I've been told by a Trench Art Collector chances are it was used by the soldier as a Spam can opener, or key!  It appears it is not the original bullet, but something made of steel by the soldier in the trenches.
Opportunity to own an iconic and collectable Great War Trench Art memory relic, being a personal item no doubt used by a soldier - a simple inert bullet pencil.....
Manufacturer's base marks may be seen on the photo.  They are "TS 15 C 4".
Measures appx. 3" long, this memory item from World War 1 would make a good addition to add value and interest to any militaria collection.
